Alrath, Lord of the North

So...Long story. I sat down to try and do a couple digital sketches to try and get a better handle on my drawing. In order to do that I chose a subject, in this case a character I haven't used in ages. For some reason I just kept going and working on it, taking it out of the black and white original and expanding it to a full piece...complete with background. Something new just clicked while I was working on this and, well, you can see the result. I have to say that he has become the best I've done to date. Especially when you consider I didn't even start with any plan or idea.
So, here he is: Alrath, Lord of the Phoenix and Lord of the North!
